produces many still lifes . what?  what life? the artist can produce something hundred years ago and still alive? NO NO NO

what you see is what you get! still = 止, life= 生命生物 所以 still life=靜物畫!!!!

讀到謝哲青的寂寞藝術館,描寫道:

靜物畫, 英文still life,與荷蘭文stilleven德文sitlleben一樣都是靜止的生命

不一樣的是,義大利文natura morta與法文nature morte則是死去的自然,

根據哲學家狄德羅的解釋,靜物畫描繪沉默,安詳,平凡,無用,或停滯不動,沒有生命氣息的存在
